My Experience as a Temporary Wife
My story begins deep within my family tree, intertwining traditions from Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. My maternal grandmother, born in Poland, was Jewish, and my father is a Turkish Muslim Shia. This unique cultural blend introduced me to the concept of temporary marriage—a practice where couples can marry for a day, a week, a month, or even a year based on mutual agreement.
In this tradition, both parties enter into an agreement that includes promises to be faithful, care for each other, love and support one another, and for the wife to be obedient to her husband. Additionally, the husband is obliged to give his wife a pre-agreed gift, whether it be money, a car, or gold, known in Islam as mahr.
One of my most intimate stories involves a client who shared my religious background. He booked me in advance and transferred the agreed deposit for a four-day marriage, along with the mahr. We spent these four days in the United Arab Emirates, embracing our roles as husband and wife. This was my first experience as a temporary wife, and the excitement was palpable.
From the very beginning, I committed myself to fulfilling all the terms of our agreement. I aimed to be a loving wife, obedient to my husband, and dedicated to taking care of him without any deceit. However, as I immersed myself in this role, I found myself genuinely falling in love with him. What started as a professional arrangement gradually transformed into a passionate dream and a deep-seated desire.
The genuine connection we shared was exhilarating. When he affectionately called me his wife and expressed his desire for me, I felt an overwhelming sense of belonging and affection. I gave myself entirely—mind, body, and soul—embracing the reality that I was his wife, even if only temporarily. This profound feeling of being cherished and responsible for me ignited a passion I hadn’t anticipated.
Every moment spent together deepened my emotions. I longed to feel his presence everywhere, to connect with him completely, and to experience the intimacy we shared. The bond we formed was intense and transformative, making those four days some of the most memorable and fulfilling of my life.
Through this experience, I discovered the true essence of love and companionship. It wasn’t just about fulfilling an agreement; it was about creating a meaningful connection that transcended the temporary nature of our marriage. This journey taught me the power of love, trust, and the incredible impact a genuine relationship can have on one’s life.As the days unfolded in the beautiful backdrop of the United Arab Emirates, our connection deepened beyond anything I had anticipated. Each morning, we’d wake up to the soft glow of the desert sun filtering through the curtains, casting a warm light over us. Sharing breakfast, we exchanged stories about our lives, dreams, and the cultures that shaped us. These conversations made me feel truly seen and understood.
During the afternoons, we explored the vibrant city together. Strolling through bustling markets, we admired intricate crafts and indulged in the rich aromas of spices and perfumes. He would gently take my hand, guiding me through the crowds, and I felt a profound sense of belonging by his side.
Our evenings were the most cherished. Dining under the stars, the gentle breeze carrying the distant sounds of the city, we found ourselves enveloped in an atmosphere of enchantment. Our conversations flowed effortlessly, filled with laughter and shared secrets, creating memories I knew I would treasure forever.
Back in our suite, the intimacy between us blossomed. He would look into my eyes with a sincerity that made the world outside fade away. We shared tender moments that transcended the physical—a meeting of souls. Every touch was gentle yet filled with a passion that stirred something deep within me.
One night, as the moonlight bathed the room in a soft glow, he traced his fingers along my cheek, whispering words that warmed my heart. “You make me feel alive,” he said softly. In that moment, I realized how profoundly connected we had become. The boundaries between us blurred, and I felt completely enveloped in a sense of love and acceptance.
We spent hours wrapped in each other’s arms, sharing our hopes and fears. He told me about his childhood, his aspirations, and the challenges he faced. I opened up about my own journey, the blend of cultures that shaped me, and my dreams for the future. This emotional intimacy made our physical closeness even more meaningful.
As our four days together neared their end, a bittersweet feeling settled in. I cherished the time we had but couldn’t ignore the ache knowing it was temporary. On our last evening, he surprised me with a delicate necklace—a symbol of the connection we had forged. “So you remember this time,” he said as he fastened it around my neck.
We sat on the balcony, the city’s lights twinkling below us. “These days have meant more to me than I can express,” he confessed. I nodded, emotions swirling inside me. “They’ve been unforgettable for me too,” I replied softly.
When the time came to part ways, we embraced tightly, holding onto the moment for as long as we could. “Thank you for being my wife,” he whispered. “Even if just for a short while.” Tears welled in my eyes as I smiled. “Thank you for showing me what it feels like to be truly loved.”
Returning home, I reflected on our time together. The experience had awakened something inside me—a deeper understanding of love, intimacy, and the beauty of fully giving oneself to another. It wasn’t just about physical desire; it was about connection, trust, and the courage to be vulnerable.
This journey as a temporary wife had become more than a professional engagement; it was a transformative chapter in my life. It taught me that sometimes, the most profound relationships can bloom in the unlikeliest of circumstances, leaving an indelible mark on our hearts.
